School Visits and Programs

Meigs Library staff members make visits to local schools to provide access to materials, information about the library, and present programs and learning opportunities.
Visits to area preschools occur monthly.

Collaboration with each of school district happens in the following ways:
  • Eastern Local Schools - A branch of the Meigs County District Public Library, known as the Eastern Library, is located on the school campus. This library serves both public and school populations. Materials are shared, and staffing is joint between both organizations.
  • Southern Local Schools - Staff members bring items to circulate to students every other week during the school year for lower elementary school students. Older students have access to totes of books provided by the library within their classrooms. These books are often traded for new titles.
  • Meigs Local Schools - The Meigs County District Public Library works closely with the Meigs After School Kids (ASK) Program to provide materials for book clubs. The library also participates in the Meigs Summer Reading Program by bringing material to the school during summer months. Titles are available for students to check out and return at the school.
  • Carleton School - Preschool visits to the library each week allow young children to have access to reading material, story time, and a visit to a community organization. Crafts are available for classes.
